Humane Society of Plainfield Teams with 
Rescue Railroad Groups to Save Lives

As part of the Humane Society of Plainfield's outreach program, we have been working with humane organizations and animal control agencies in rural areas throughout the Midwest. In order to continue rescuing animals from certain death we need your continued your support. Southern Indiana Save-a-Pet and the Pet Connection are just two groups who have been able to save hundreds of lives thanks to the Humane Society of Plainfield.

ADVENTURES OF THE BIG BLUE BUS!!

On Saturday, July 8th a major animal rescue event took place! A big blue bus was donated to transport 48 dogs, 1 cat with kittens, through out Indiana!
The bus started out early in the morning by being loaded with all the animals, and off it went rumbling down Indiana highway's, making planned stops where rescue groups would meet the bus, to pick up their animals. The bus made its last stop in Merrillville, Indiana, where it was met by two mini-vans that would bring some of the dogs the rest of the way to Plainfield. Twenty One of them would be staying at HSP and the rest where picked up by other rescue groups in the Animal Care parking lot.
These dogs made a long journey to HSP, all had reached their time limit at the shelters and animal controls where they where, each of them had days to live. But thanks to the Rescue Railroad, each was given a life saving chance, to come to Plainfield to find their forever home! Without the efforts of these wonderful volunteers, who drive countless miles to save hundreds of animals, many animals would be put to death.
So, on behave of all the animals that have made their way to HSP, we would like to thank the dedicated members of the Rescue Railroad, for their devotion to homeless animals and for giving their time, energy and money, (we all know how expensive gas is now days), to all of the hundreds of animals that now have a place to call home, thanks to them!!!!!
