HSP MISSION
STATEMENT
In 2006, we placed over700 animals into loving homes
from our temporary facility.
Each one of these animals was given shelter, food, medical aid and vaccinations
and time to find the right home.
Our doctors mended mutilated limbs and cured many illnesses
so that these animals could get a second chance at good lives.
It is our goal to have our own facility devoted to helping our homeless friends
so that we can give many more animals a chance to find the homes they deserve.
And it is our mission to educate the public about the problems of pets
over population and offer solutions for ending it.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
To offer shelter and care to as many homeless and unwanted pets as possible
To prepare our friends for introduction into loving and lifelong homes
To educate the public to the plight of unwanted animals
and offer solutions for ending pet overpopulation
To assist pet owners in maintaining their new "friends for life"
with training, medical services and behavioral counseling
COMING IN 2008
When founded in 2000, the Humane Society of Plainfield saved a couple hundred animals in our
first year. Since then, the number of homeless animals rescued and placed
has expanded tremendously, with a record 700 animals placed in 2006. In
addition to expanding our scope of rescued animals, we have also expanded
our adoption placements to include a much greater community outside the
borders of Plainfield, with adoption centers now located in Channahon,
Oswego, as well as the two centers in Plainfield. This has always been one
of our long-term goals; to establish, on a grass-roots level, successful
adoption centers throughout the metropolitan Chicago area, working in
conjunction with the dedicated caregivers at various veterinary facilities
to provide the very best in medical services for the homeless animals most
in need. Now that we, as an organization, have broadened our mission to
helping that many more animals find homes in many area communities, it is
time for our name to reflect our broadened status as well. Therefore,
beginning in 2008, the Humane Society of Plainfield (HSP) is proud to
announce that we will begin to call ourselves Help Save Pets with each of
our locations housing animals to be known as the Help Save Pets Adoption
Centers. In doing so, we will continue to work diligently with Plainfield
and surrounding communities to rescue and place many more homeless animals
in need than ever before!
