For a long time now, we have been trying to think of a way to recognize volunteers 
that are devoted to the animals that call HSP home. After much consideration, 
we've come up with the PERDY Award, named after a dog that was 
with us for quite some time. Perdy became very near and dear to all of the volunteers. 
 Perdy has found her forever home and seems to be very happy. 
So, it seemed a perfect way to reward volunteers, to give them a PERDY.
Our first PERDY Volunteer Award recipient for 2008 is Peter Zammer. 
He was nominated because of all of his hard work, 
from holding our Yard Sale, to transporting the animals from one clinic to another, 
to installing the bricks in the “Walk-Way of  Life.”  
You can depend on Peter to always go the extra mile to help in any way he is asked.
 
Peter was given his PERDY Award at a small ceremony on 
Saturday, January 26th, at the Animal Care Center. 
HSP is very lucky to have a volunteer as devoted as Peter!
